Event Details

Arlington Garden's Volunteer Committee presents ...

... our first-ever **free** Winter Eco-Craft Laboratory craft workshop! Bring yourself and your family to this winter-ish/holiday-ish crafting jamboree to make ornaments using natural and upcycled/reused materials! Dried citrus will be featured heavily! Appropriate for children and adults, this workshop is a "laboratory" because you'll be experimenting with unusual materials and -- of course -- creative hacking of our adorable designs is encouraged! **Come anytime in the 10:00am to 12:00pm window!** ORNAMENTS AND FUROSHIKI! Participants will make a winter-themed decorative ornament (or two or three) using materials from or inspired by the garden. You will also learn how to wrap your ornament using furoshiki -- a traditional Japanese wrapping technique using fabrics instead of (often wasteful) paper! RECIPE SHARE! As part of the eco-friendly ethos, we're also hosting a recipe-share! Participants are invited to bring one of their favorite winter recipes to share with the other "lab-techs." You can print it out, write it out in cursive, or snap a photo to copy onto paper at the garden. Since we'll be using a lot of citrus in the crafts, citrus-themed recipes are strongly encouraged! Spaces at this workshop are extremely limited, so please sign up ASAP. If you need to reserve more than two spaces at the event, please make separate reservations. ** Arlington Garden's locally famous marmalade will be for sale at the event!**
